CAA is adding to its gaming roster.
The agency has signed Twitch live-streamer Herschel “Guy” Beahm IV, aka DrDisrespect, for representation in all areas.
Beahm began posting live game play on Twitch less than two years ago and has grown his following to more than 3 million, making him one of the platform’s most-followed gamers. His Twitch channel has generated more than 100 million views.
A big personality, Beahm is known for playing games in full character with a mullet, sunglasses and mustache he has nicknamed “Slick Daddy.” The skilled battle royale competitor, who has counted Gillette, ASUS, Razer and G Fuel as sponsors, was named the 2017 streamer of the year by the E-Sports Industry Awards and trending gamer of the year at the 2017 Game Awards.
Beahm currently serves as an advisor to Boom.tv and was previously a level map designer for Activision Blizzard’s Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
CAA will work with him on areas including television, motion pictures, touring, digital distribution, partnerships, endorsements, personal appearances and publishing.
The signing comes a month after CAA added Nicholas Amyoony, known as Nick Eh 30, and David Steinberg, known as StoneMountain64, to its client roster, and it signals a push at the agency to work more with rising talent in the world of e-sports and gaming. CAA also represents video game developers and creators through its games department.
