NFL skins are coming to Fortnite

The Fortnite end zone dance fad comes full circle

The National Football League is partnering with Epic Games to bring NFL-themed skins to Fortnite. Uniforms from all 32 teams will be available Friday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. ET.

Fortnite dances crept into the sports world early last year, making their way into the end zones of NFL games during the 2017-18 season. It only makes sense, really, that the most popular professional sport in the United States would want to partner with the most popular video game in the world.

“We see the popularity of Fortnite every day at the NFL as many of our players are passionate about this game,” said Brian Rolapp, chief media and business officer at the NFL. “This partnership represents a great opportunity for millions of NFL fans who are Fortnite players to express their fandom inside the game while at the same time exposing our brand to countless others.”

Starting Friday, NFL team outfits will be available in the Battle Royale Item Shop in exchange for V-Bucks, Fortnite’s in-game currency. They are available for both male and female avatars, and players can change the number shown on them before every match. Outfits include helmets and a full set of pads. There’s also a vanilla Fortnite uniform available as well.
