Yahoo! Sports is to launch Play it Forward, a short-form docuseries from Burbank-based full-service indie Bright Bay Creative that will provide a glimpse into the rise of top NFL talent and the ways in which they give back to their support systems.
Produced by Bright Bay Creative, in association with Complex Networks, each 11-minute episode will offer an intimate look at a different NFL superstar as they undergo offseason training, and the ways they like to give back to the people who have supported them along the way.
Featured NFL athletes include Kirk Cousins, Antonio Brown, Melvin Gordon, Nick Chubb, Adrian Peterson, Desean Jackson, Jay Ajayi, Devonta Freeman, Keenan Allen, Devin Funchess, Golden Tate, Calvin Ridley, Chris Carson, Gerald McCoy and Emmanuel Sanders.
Episodes will showcase Oakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown gifting his trusted trainer and nutritionist a custom chef’s knife designed by the legendary Johnny Dang; Shaquem Griffin and Shaquill Griffin of the Seattle Seahawks give back to their mom by hooking her up with diamond earrings and a tennis bracelet to match; and Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins purchases his entire offensive line new barbecue grills.
Play it Forward will premiere today (June 15) on Yahoo! Sports, with new episodes airing Mondays and Thursdays over an eight-week period.
“Play It Forward is every football fan’s dream: no host, no agenda, no filter,” said executive producer and Bright Bay President Brandon Killion in a statement. “The series is about a day in the life of the game’s top players, and for us at Bright Bay it’s the perfect opportunity to showcase premium short-form content that can cut through the clutter.”
