All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.   Description Job Summary The Coordinator, Social Media, is responsible for assisting in the development and execution of strategic communications for the Pittsburgh Pirates social media accounts to include sales, marketing, business and community initiatives. The Coordinator will assist with daily operation of Pirates social media platforms from off season planning and posting, to in-game posting, off-day scheduling and more. The candidate will also assist with in-park and on-site social media activation in conjunction with corporate partnership and ticket sales programs, as well as other organizational initiatives. The incumbent in this position will assist in production and management of content on Pirates.com as needed. Also the position will contribute to the Pirates hosted blog, so strong writing skills are a must. The employee must have confidence in dealing with the members of the media, as well as a willingness to take initiative and assume activities associated with communicating the Pirates organization's key messages. Responsibilities: Assist in the development and execution of daily strategies for Pirates social media platforms. Development of strategic long term programs tailored for specific platforms to increase engagement. Execute daily communications across all social media platforms, including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat and others, including daily game day coverage. Exercise independent judgment and discretion to produce and manage the content on Pirates Press, including the scheduling, writing, and editing of the Pirates branded news blog. Responsible for the oversight of in-park and off campus on-site social media activation for corporate partnership programs. Editing and formatting photos for use across all social media channels and Pirates.com pages. Updating of Photoshop files for daily use in Pirates social media posts. Daily social media monitoring, with independent judgment and discretion to respond to or make recommendations on responses to social media posts by third parties on Pirates social media outlets, which the Pirates consider to be matters of significance in terms of public image and brand consistency. Other duties as assigned by the Manager, Business Communications and Social Media. Active role in Communications Department outreach event planning. Active role in sales, marketing, community and ballpark content creation. Participation and/or coverage of Pirates business and community events. Game day coordination with MLB's ballpark social media representative.   Position Requirements Required: Bachelor’s Degree Three to five (3-5) years of social media or relevant industry experience Experience and working knowledge of a variety of social media channels Experience with Photoshop and other Adobe Suite applications Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Event execution experience Desired: Experience working in sports   Location Pittsburgh, PA   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Shift Various Shifts   This position is currently not accepting applications.
